Energy generation by the Power supply system (including PPA)

The "FFB PreFab" utilizes six medium-voltage transformers that convert the voltage from 10 kV to 400 V. The factory is connected to the grid with an approximate capacity of 6.8 MW. To maintain an eco-friendly factory, the electricity required is generated by a combination of the PV roof system and a ground-mounted PV system, connected via a PPA, a new addition to the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft. The factory purchases green electricity through the FhG framework agreement to cover the remaining electricity.

While the rooftop PV of the PreFab and Fab can supply only a small portion of its own electrical energy needs, almost the entire load can be met by PPAs from locally located PV and wind power plants.
