Not only materials actively involved in the function, but also passively involved materials such as current collector foils, separators and also housing components are important components of a modern battery cell - for example, they contribute to increasing the power density or increase safety. In collaboration with industry, we are jointly investigating key questions from a product and process perspective. For example, what effects do cell chemistries of current and future battery generations have on the requirements for passive materials? Conversely, the validation and benchmarking at cell level of innovative passive materials, such as ceramic materials, are also part of our expertise. Our analyses include the performance of individual cell designs, processability and the choice of suitable process parameters, as well as necessary adjustments to production equipment at the manufacturing level.
In addition to developing the optimal solution for you, we will also offer the production of statistically usable sample cells up to industrial scale. Benefit from the efficient qualification of your product innovations and thus shortened time-to-market via the direct connection to our research production.
