Fraunhofer Research Institution for Battery Cell Production FFB Often, technological leadership in individual process steps of battery cell production comes from completely different industries. The goal of a "Fit for LiB" project is to derive attractive applications within the battery value chain based on your technological competencies. We evaluate these with regard to their applicability in battery cell production, from the entire machine to individual components. The focus is on lithium-ion battery cells (LiB).
To do this, we first search for potential fields of application in as broad a spectrum as possible. We analyze these and prepare them in a structured manner before we select the most attractive applications together with you in a further selection step.
Based on this prioritization of the application fields, we analyze this selection in more detail. For example, the expected development effort is evaluated with the help of a GAP analysis. Furthermore, the calculation of an initial business case is part of a "Fit for LiB" project.
